3. WWE’s Tribute to the Troops Airs on USA, to Re-Air on NBC Saturday
WWE’s Tribute to the Troops aired last night on the USA Network, and will re-air this Saturday night on NBC (check your local listings) with matches that were recorded recently in Fayetteville, NC at the Crown Colliseum, near Fort Bragg. In addition to celebrity appearances, the show features Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett, Zack Ryder vs. Jack Swagger, Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes, Kelly Kelly/Alicia Fox/Eve Torres/”Extra”‘s Maria Menounos vs. The Bellas/Natalya Neidhart/Beth Phoenix, Air Boom vs. Hunico/Epico, and Punk/The Big Show/John Cena vs. Mark Henry/The Miz/Alberto Del Rio.
NewsWire Flash-Commentary: Somehow, the show didn’t have that special feel. It just looked like Smackdown with different colored ropes. I hope next year they return to the outdoor venue.

2. John Cena’s Role on Sunday’s TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs PPV Possibly Cleared Up
Bryan Alvarez is reporting that WWE is considering making Cena the special guest referee for the US title match between Dolph Ziggler (c) and Zack Ryder this Sunday in Baltimore. The stipulation, presumably would be that Cena could be part of that night’s main event WWE title match – with CM Punk (c) vs. The Miz vs. Alberto Del Rio –  ”If the right guy wins.”
NewsWire Flash-Commentary: This could pave the way for a future Ryder turn on Cena, as I’ve predicted for a few weeks now, when Cena is forced to count Ryder’s shoulders to the mat. That feud would carry Cena into WrestleMania vs. The Rock, and, hopefully, make Ryder a bigger star as well.

1. Chris Jericho’s Return Imminent?
Two of my sources with WWE have confirmed they believe the mysterious young girl promos hyping a big return were designed for Chris Jericho, rather than The Undertaker as originally speculated. In particular, one source told me they believe Jericho has either re-signed or is close to re-signing. Should it fall through, WWE plans to just switch it to The Undertaker instead. Dave Meltzer DID claim, however, that a post-TLC ppv promo – already taped – will make it very clear to everyone that the mystery man is Jericho.
NewsWire Flash-Commentary: A pleasant surprise. I’d expected him gone longer this time. I hope it works out, because Jericho is desperately missed.

BONUS ITEM –
I’d also like to offer a special shoutout to my good friend Ahtu, a competitor with the East Coast Wrestling Association. Ahtu was featured on Sunday night’s edition of “Why Am I Still Single?” (Episode 109) on VH1. Ahtu is a class act and looks the part of somebody who could make a huge impact on WWE television if he just got noticed. I’m hoping it works out for him. Check out the show!
