Hello Brady,

Guess what. There is no such thing as a coincidence. Not around here. The fact that John and I have been able to log in, while you were not. The fact that the beleaguered Mike Bessler had the antidote to the site’s “database” errors. The fact that some of the errors on the site were not unlike those perpetrated during your feud with Harry Barnett last year. Coincidences? No. Not even close.

The title of this article should not come as a shock to anyone who has been paying attention to The Hulkster for the past several years. His public appearances have been rife with contradictions. His demeanor has become more unpredictable, and even he has admitted that another appearance in a wrestling match would be out of the question. And yet, here he is, about to headline another pay-per-view (TNA’s Bound for Glory) this evening. I’ll be in attendance, with my cringe face at the ready.

It gets more ridiculous, though, than Hulk’s continued attempts to cash in on his own legacy “one last time.” Hogan, obviously fed up with the environment of TNA, has resorted to trying to start a program with – who else? – the leader of the free world. Incensed by Obama’s use of Rick Derringer’s “Real American” at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Hogan has renounced his previous, meaningless endorsement of the President. For those who’ve never seen Obama’s “Real American” entrance video, check it out below:

“I kinda was a little upset that he didn’t ask me permission to use my music,” Hogan said on a recent edition of the popular morning show, Fox & Friends. continue reading…

Hi all,

This is just to say that, as of this week, I’m stepping down from my position as a cohost of In the Room. I am at a point in my life where too much is going on for me to devote the needed energy to this wonderful program, and so I am calling it quits. You may have noticed that, the past few shows, my energy level has been down. My heart has just not been in it lately, and I think that means it’s time for me to step away.

I’ve had an amazing time – despite a few bumps in the road – recording these shows with Brady and DJ. We’ve met and interviewed many interesting personalities from the business we all grew up watching. It’s been a pleasure performing and editorializing for all of you, the listeners. I wouldn’t trade the time for anything. But the time has come for me to walk away. Thanks to Brady for giving me the chance to do this, and to DJ, Young John, and everybody else who has made doing this so much fun.

Brady will, I believe, be finding a replacement for me shortly. Keep listening, people. IN THE ROOM is not going away any time soon, even if my time here is over.

Take care,

Kev

Prior to Sunday’s Royal Rumble match, three years had lapsed since Booker T’s most recent appearance in a WWE ring. For Kevin Nash, the Rumble marked his first WWE performance in over seven years. With both men reportedly slated to participate in TNA’s resurrected “Main Event Mafia” angle, one might not have expected the two to show up in the Rumble match – at least until last weekend, when the rumor mill began to churn, and both men were spotted entering Boston, Massachusetts. Ooh, how scandalous!!!!

Booker and Nash aren’t quite relics, sure, but let’s remember that WWE is in the midst of an unprecedented youth movement. What could possibly have been the motivation for bringing Booker and Nash back into the fray, at their “advanced ages?” Well, both men are, arguably, contenders for the Hall of Fame, and what better place than Atlanta to induct two of WCW’s biggest stars ever? Nash stated in an interview earlier this week that he expects to sign a “Legends” deal with WWE, which hints at possible Hall of Fame glory around the corner. It doesn’t hurt, either, that his BFF is the frontrunner for this year’s class. As far as Booker’s concerned, he’s already (spoiler alert!) returned to full-time WWE TV as a member of the Smackdown announce team. So neither he nor Nash is going anywhere any time soon.
