This Week in Wrestling History (December 13, 1989), NWA/WCW held its Starrcade pay per view. In the main event, Sting defeated Ric Flair to win the Iron Man round robin Tournament.
This Week in Wrestling History (December 7, 1997), WWE held its In Your House: D-Generation X pay per view. In the main event, Ken Shamrock defeated Shawn Michaels by disqualification in a match for the WWF Championship.
This Week in Wrestling History (December 2, 1996), WCW Monday Nitro aired live from Dayton, Ohio. In the main event, Sting fought Rick Steiner to a no-contest.

This Week in Wrestling History (November 7, 1985), WWE held its The Wrestling Classic pay per view. In the main event, the Junkyard Dog defeated Randy Savage in the finals of a 16-man tournament.

This Week in Wrestling History (October 27, 1990), WCW held its Halloween Havoc pay per view. In the main event, Sting defeated Sid Vicious to retain the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
This Week in Wrestling History (October 24, 1999), WCW held its Halloween Havoc pay per view. In the main event, Goldberg defeated Sting in an unsanctioned match, presumably for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The title was vacated the next night on Nitro due to Sting’s attack on referee Charles Robinson. This would be the first of five occasions in a 92 day span that the WCW World Heavyweight Championship was vacated.
Today in Wrestling History (October 21, 2001), WWE held its No Mercy pay per view. In the main event, Steve Austin defeated Rob Van Dam and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat match to retain the World Wrestling Federation Championship.
