02.06.12 – Dueling Reactions

Join hosts Kevin and Young John for a very “divisive” edition of the web’s only Punk Rock ‘n Wrestling podcast. This week’s topic is wrestlers who have figuratively split audiences in two. First, hear the guys talk about Hulk Hogan’s place as both the top heel AND top babyface in TNA – and why this could be helpful to the Impact product. Then, the discussion turns again to internet darling, Daniel Bryan. Find out why a seemingly innocuous line uttered by Michael Cole might signal a brighter future for the former “American Dragon.” A can’t-miss feud with John Cena might not be so far off!

Musically speaking, you’ll dig into tracks from Go to the Police, the long out-of-print (and only) recording from U.K. power pop act, The Toys. PLUS: music from Mat Minutiae’s Mike Bessler and BSH’s own Kevin McElvaney. Yes, you read that right!

01.23.12 – Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & WWE

This week, Kevin and Young John invite the renowned Mike Bessler to the internet’s favorite Punk Rock ‘N Wrestling podcast. The guys discuss a host of topics, with the focal question being “Should WWE split its programming into seasons?” It’s a debate that’s been stewing in various circles over the years, and BSH will attempt to solve the issue once and for all. Plus, Mike, John, and Kevin talk about the future of Mat Minutiae, THE Brady Hicks, and the 100th episode anniversary of NXT. All this, along with music from Red Tape Parade, Hold Tight, Jack’s Smirking Revenge, and Red & Orange. Check it out!

Here it is, friends. Join hosts, Kevin and Young John, for the 5th installment of the web’s 147th most popular podcast with the words “bowling shoe” in the title. This week’s topic is “Suspension of Disbelief.” The guys address story line believability in professional wrestling today, with the specific brand of humor and candor for which BSH has become known. Among other things, they wax intelligent about MITB, Mark Henry’s ankle, Hornswoggle’s newfound ability to speak, and the futility of teasing a John Cena heel turn. Plus, a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT concerning the future of the show! Tune in, and enjoy the sweet sounds. And, as always, let us know what you think in the comments…

With DJ under the weather, Brady Hicks and Anthony Sarlo are joined this week IN THE ROOM by an old friend, as the long-elusive Kevin McElvaney visits the show for the first time in months. What has Kevin been up to? And what are his thoughts on CM Punk, the hottest angle wrestling has seen in years, SummerSlam, Kevin Nash, and so much more. Plus, the gang breaks down TNA Impact, taking a special look at the magpie incident from a few weeks back, and Kevin recalls a Legends ppv – historic for all the wrong reasons – he recently watched. A great listen as always!

This week IN THE ROOM, Brady Hicks, DJ, and Anthony Sarlo take a look at the past week in wrestling, including the release of Chavo Guerrero, more thoughts on Warrior/Hogan and TNA/Impact’s Bound for Glory and Destination-X tournaments, and the ROH and WSU i-ppvs. Thanks for the support!

What else can I say…….the title says it all.  OK, fine, you want specifics.  I can do that.  But first let me start off by saying that this was Wrestlemania……the biggest PPV of the year……the measuring stick……blah, blah, blah.  This seemed more like an old In Your House pay-per-view.  Don’t get me wrong: there were some good moments.  But they were always overshadowed by the confusing, questionable and down-right bad.  I will deal with this in two parts, so let’s start from the beginning:

I’m sure I’m out of touch with all the Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet for my Valentine that I listen too, but I never heard of Keri Hilson.  That doesn’t make her bad – just an odd choice.  I thought maybe they’d choose someone that fit more with their demographics.  Oh well, not a big thing……on to the show.

Ok, so having not followed wrestling regularly for quite some time, I look at the complete card for Wrestlemania and I scratch my head wondering who some of these people are. Fortunately not knowing something has never prevented me from having an opinion on it and as such here are my predictions.

The Undertaker vs. Triple H – I hate (OK, strongly dislike) The Undertaker. I can appreciate what he has done for wrestling but honestly the shtick is old. On the other hand I love Hunter and have been a long time fan of his. Does he have a chance at breaking the “streak”? Meh…  probably not but I’m going to pick him anyway because if there was anyone that I can see being allowed to do it, it is the boss’s son-in-law.
